A baby’s first Christmas is such a special time. Sharing the meaning and magic of the holiday season with a little one just makes it all so much more fun!
I wanted to document Ivy’s first Christmas so she can look back at it later, and so that I will never forget it!
One thing I pride myself on is that I am rarely on my phone when I am with family or friends. So I didn’t get near as many pictures as I would have liked, but I got a few good ones that captured the season!
Ivy’s first introduction to the season was the Christmas tree. For the first week she was content to just look on at it in awe. Then she discovered that ornaments are fun!
Shortly after that, she realized that under the tree is truly the most magical place to be.
Our tree may have looked pretty gnarly on the bottom level, but it sure made for a beautiful backdrop for our littlest gal!
Her first official Christmas celebration took place early in December at her Grammy and Pa’s house (Collin’s parents). She really could have cared less about opening the presents, she was far too busy eating the paper!
The picture below shows a classic Ivy smile. It kills me!
All girls on this side of the family!
Mid-December Ivy’s first Christmas also brought her first big road trip! We headed to Kansas to spend Christmas with my family for a week!
Ivy was a complete angel the whole 8 hour drive!
17 people in one house for a week! It was the best kind of crazy! Ivy slept amazing while we were there and got tons of attention from her cousins, especially her cousin who is going to be a big sister again soon!
Ivy got to meet a whole ton of people she had never met before! I love showing my sweet gal off!
We got back from Kansas just two days before Christmas Eve. Ivy got to enjoy her first Christmas Eve service. Since daddy is the pastor and mommy was singing, she got to snuggle with a friend of ours during the service. She was an angel and loved the music!
Christmas morning at our house was so sweet. Ivy was more interested in “opening” gifts this time. She and her sister had a great time playing with all their toys while mom and dad made breakfast.
We ended the season in Illinois later that day and I didn’t take a single picture. I did, however, get a picture of her sleeping with me in bed. She was up 3 times Christmas night, and ended up sleeping with me which she has NEVER done before. I was tired, but in all honesty, it was a sweet way to end Ivy’s very first Christmas!
