The Night Night Song

This post falls under the I-want-to-write-this-for-myself-to-remember-in-the-future-but-others-can-read-it-too category.

When I was a baby my mom wrote a simple little song to sing to me each night before she put me to sleep. She came up with the tune on her own and the words were simply naming me all the family members that love me. My sister remembered my mom singing it to me and so she sang it to her three boys when they were babies.

It is such a special little song with so much meaning behind it. Of course I sing it to my girls now too!

I have sang it to Nora and Ivy almost every single night since they were born. I want to write the lyrics here, and if you’re brave, at the bottom of the post I even recorded myself singing a few verses. Listen at your own risk! 😉

The Night Night Song

Night night sleepy little Nora {Ivy}

Night night sleepy little Nora {Ivy}

Night night sleepy little Nora {Ivy} sleepy little Nora Kate {Ivy Corinne}

Nora {Ivy} Mommy loves you
