My Favorite Products

Today I wanted to share with you some of my all-time favorite products. Every item except one I have been using for months, or even years. So they have stood the test of time, and have often times been repurchased!

I am not and will not ever call myself a beauty blogger, but I find the best products through the recommendations of others. Hopefully you can find something new to try and love!

Details on each item listed below!

|Nivea Soft|$8|Drugstore|

This is my longest used product… ever! I have been using this for close to six years now. It is the only face lotion I will buy, I have never even tried to branch out because I am that happy with this product. I have combination skin, that leans more towards oily. I have a really hard time finding products that don’t make my skin over-oily, especially when it comes to moisturizer. I thought in high school that the answer was to just not use a face lotion, but then the dry patches I get were even worse. So, finally in college I tried this product. It smells great, dries quickly, and does not make my skin greasy in any way. I put it on right out of the shower everyday. Another great thing about it is that you don’t need too much. One tub (also comes in a small squeeze bottle) lasts for about 6 months. So you don’t have to repurchase often and it makes it incredibly affordable!

|Maybelline Fit Me Liquid Foundation|$8|Drugstore|

Another product I have been using for years. I am going on three years with this as my only foundation. I have tried just about every foundation there is. No joke! I had pretty bad skin thanks to acne as a teen, so I don’t leave the house without foundation on. This one is now the only kind I will buy because it doesn’t make my skin oily, isn’t too thick, and it doesn’t feel like I am wearing makeup. I pair it with the pressed powder of the same name.

|St. Ives Energizing Scrub|$4|Drugstore|

This product I have only been using for about a month, but I had to share it! First off, it might be the first face wash I have ever wished I could eat. It is coconut and coffee which are two of my favorite scents. It smells so amazing! It is incredibly exfoliating, which I need and love. So far it has been good for my skin, and I hope that continues because the smell is so worth it!

|Maybelline Matte Ink Lipstick|$10|Drugstore|

I shared about this lipstick on instagram a while back and had a few people tell me they tried it and loved it! I have been using it since the summer and it is my favorite. It has a matte finish which I love, and it really does stay on so well throughout the day. My only complaint is that it is a little drying, but I pair it with a lipgloss and that seems to help. Since it brags of the staying power, it is hard to get off at the end of the day. I have found that baby wipes work great! I have the colors Lover and Dreamer, but when I first purchased it there were very few color options because it was so new. Since then they have come out with many more, and I can’t wait to get my hands on some! It’s a bit pricy but lasts a long time!

|Sabastian Shaper Hairspray|$14|Drugstore & Ulta|

A little back story on this product. I do not love shopping. Online, sure. In store… no thanks! My husband’s mom and sister love to shop and the especially love Black Friday shopping. My husband, being the extrovert he is, goes Black Friday shopping with them each year. Two years ago when he went, both his mom and sister were raving about this hairspray when they found it on sale at Ulta. So, Collin picked some up for me too! I am so glad he did because I love it! It doesn’t stink, make your hair “crunchy,” and it lasts a long time. Sadly I live nowhere near an Ulta, and it can only be found at select Targets and Wal-Marts. I have found however that often our local TJ Maxx carries it, and for only $8 in stead of the original $14! Sold!

I just may have to try that foundation because of your glowing recommendation. I’ve been an Avon rep for 24 years and I love their products but I’m always open to new suggestions. I recently began using a product I found in Ulta, from Julep and it’s a compact that really helps your face look smooth. I am 60 but still have oily skin! Isn’t that awful? I loved Avon’s eye make up remover, but discovered that coconut oil does a much better job and does not irritate eyes. Just a tiny dab in your palm melts quickly and will whisk away even the thickest eye makeup. Plus it serves many other purposes, too. Even good to put in the dog’s food.
